Ham and Yams with Sweet and Sour Sauce

Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup milk
1 cup fine toast crumbs
1 egg, beaten
2 cups ground ham
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 can (24 ounces) whole yams
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup cider vinegar

Directions:
Pour milk on crumbs. Add egg, ham and 1/2 teaspoon mustard and mix well. Shape in 12 balls and put in shallow baking dish. Arrange yams around balls. Mix remaining mustard and other ingredients and heat. Drizzle over ham and yams and bake in moderate oven (350°F) about 40 minutes. Baste several times during the baking with sauce in dish.
