Ham, Celery and Cheese Strata

Serving Size: 4-6

Ingredients

  • 2 cups celery in 1/2″ slices
  • Salt
  • 8 slices, firm-type bread, crusts trimmed
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups finely diced Chicagoland Ham
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook celery in small amount of boiling salted water 8 to 10 minutes; drain.
  2. Cut a 2″ round from each slice of bread. Crumble remainder in shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish and sprinkle with the cheese.
  3. Cover with celery, then Chicagoland Ham and top with bread circles.
  4. Mix remaining ingredients and pour on top.
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
  6. Then bake in moderate oven (350°F) 1 hour, or until firm and lightly browned.
