Ham and Yams with Sweet and Sour Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup fine toast crumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cups ground Chicagoland Ham
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 can (24 ounces) whole yams
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
Instructions
- Pour milk on crumbs.
- Add egg, Chicagoland Ham and 1/2 teaspoon mustard and mix well.
- Shape in 12 balls and put in shallow baking dish.
- Arrange yams around balls.
- Mix remaining mustard and other ingredients and heat.
- Drizzle over ham and yams and bake in moderate oven (350°F) about 40 minutes.
- Baste several times during the baking with sauce in dish.
